2011 Da Vinci Society Luncheon Event
Our 7th Annual Invitation Only Luncheon will feature the induction of Dr. Edgar Mitchell into the Da Vinci Society. On February 6, 1971, Navy Captain Edgar Mitchell, D.Sc., became the sixth man to walk on the moon when he spent nine hours working on the lunar surface. Scientist, test pilot, naval officer, astronaut, entrepreneur, author and lecturer, Dr. Mitchell's extraordinary career personifies humankind's push to widen its external horizons as well as our desire to explore the inner soul.

After retiring from the Navy, Dr. Mitchell founded the Institute of Noetic Sciences. He has devoted the last 38 years to studying human consciousness and psychic and paranormal phenomena in the search for a common ground between science and spirit. He was a nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005.

Previous honorees include futurist Ray Kurzweil, physicist Dr. Michio Kaku, systems theorist Dr. Fritjof Capra, organizational theorist Dr. Margaret Wheatley, thinking theorist Dr. Edward de Bono and theoretical biologist Dr. Lynn Margulis.
